IIIT AGARTALA is declared as an institute of national importance on 04/02/2020 by parliament.
INDIAN INSTITUTE OF INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY AGARTALA
(IIIT-AGARTALA), is one of the Indian Institutes of Information
Technology (PPP) in the country, set up with the objective of
making available facilities for higher education, research and
training in various fields of Information Technology.
To address the challenges faced by the Indian IT industry and
growth of the domestic IT market, the Ministry of Human Resource
Development (MHRD), Government of India intends to establish
twenty Indian Institutes of Information Technology (IIIT), on a
Not-for-profit Public Private Partnership (N-PPP) basis. This
institute is an institute of national importance under act of
parliament and is currently operating from its temporary campus at
mentor institute
NIT Agartala,
where all facilities are provided to the students of IIIT
Agartala.
Despite various factors like us being the first batch of our
institute and COVID-19 immensely hindering our growth, the
students have been able to present themselves proactively and
have accomplished many achievements.
All the final year students were selected for various
internships and have also actively shown entrepreneurship
skills. Apart from that, the students have consistently
maintained good ranks in coding contests and hackathons.
